"Scottish country dancing musicians and dancers have had the chance to learn from an expert this week.

Pianist Muriel Johnstone from Scotland has been in New Zealand for almost a month giving Scottish country dancing groups lessons on dancing and music.

She spent her time in Dunedin taking a musicians' class, a dancing workshop and last night played for a social event at Burns Hall.

Invited by the New Zealand branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dancing Society, she has held classes from Kerikeri to Invercargill, with the aim to encourage and develop participants on the dance floor."
